HOME SWEET HOME!

Goal: To show children the different structures people call home in our communities.

Suggested Reading:

Description: Talk about the different kinds of homes: houses, apartment buildings, high-rises, houseboats, huts, trailers, tents, cabins, cottages, etc. Draw different kinds of homes and put people in them, show the people in all sorts of housing having a place to sleep, eat, play.

Examples of Discussion:
• “What kind of house do you live in? What makes it a home? Do you sleep/eat/play there? With whom do you live?”
• “This boy lives in a trailer, I bet he has a special place he sleeps just like you do in your home.”
